Due to the stay-at-home order, we are putting a hold on our standard shipping and storage policies. Several of our preferred vendors also have suspended operations; when operations resume, we will notify you of consolidated shipping opportunities. In concern for your health and the health of our staff, we will resume shipping and the coordination of collecting property by appointment only to limit person-to-person contact. There will be no storage fees charged during this time.

All shipping is handled by third-party vendors. As a courtesy, Rago will make arrangements with a variety of third party shippers to provide quotes for you. You are welcome to use this vendor or another of your choice. Below, we have outlined the steps to make finding a shipper as easily as possible.

Factors to consider as you look for a shipper are destination, size of the item(s) and the fragility. 

2. Select Shipper / Get Quotes

We have several preferred vendors that service all parts of the globe and we are happy to provide introductions.

3. Submit Shipping Authorization Form

Once you have coordinated with a shipper of your choice, please let us know by submitting a shipment authorization form.

Service Types

Blanket Wrap

Blanket wrap shippers individually wrap your pieces to protect the surfaces during transport. They provide door-to-door service, from scheduling a pick-up with us at the gallery to delivering it to you at your convenience. Cost varies and is determined by the size of your shipment and your location. Payment for these services may be required in advance.

This service is best for medium to large furniture. Blanket wrap is only available via ground service within the contiguous United States.

Pack & Ship

The shipper professionally packs the items and arranges transport via freight service. They provide door-to-door service, though you are responsible for unpacking your purchase and often for the disposal of the packaging materials. Cost varies and is determined by the size and location. Typically, payment for these services is required in advance. This is the preferred method for international shipments.

This service is best for small to medium sized items (both furniture and objects) and these shippers transport via ground, air, and sea, providing both international and domestic service.

Fine Art Handling

Fine Art shippers provide the safest, most customizable service of all our vendors, but this may come at a premium. They specialize in custom crating, boxing, and wrapping, and are especially experienced with fragile items that cannot be packed and shipped via freight (i.e. high value works of art, glass, etc.). These vendors can provide white glove service both internationally and domestically.

This service caters to fragile, high value works of art and design. Each vendor will offer a customized and specialized delivery plan depending on specific need.

Collecting Property from Rago

Hours for pick up are Monday – Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. We require 24 hours notice in advance of pick up. Please bring your own packing materials. Please note: New Jersey sales tax of 6.625% must be added to your invoice when picking up merchandise unless you have a valid resale number on file.

Property purchased from Rago will be located one of our two locations in Lambertville, New Jersey. This will be clearly marked on the shipping order for your purchase.
