Full-time Specialist, Fine Art

Rago/Wright/LAMA is looking for experienced Fine Art Specialist to join our growing Los Angeles team. Qualified candidates will be highly knowledgeable in fields of modern and contemporary art. This position requires a passionate and hard-working individual with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and execute across a wide range of tasks.   

Responsibilities will include:

• Developing new client relationships and executing client outreach, for both the buying and selling side of the business
• Managing consignments and the consignor relationship throughout the consignment process Working with a team of specialists to field, price and negotiate consignment inquiries
• Developing proposals
• Answering auction related inquiries; creating and distributing auction related materials, including condition reports
• Assisting with auction day tasks as needed
• Assisting with pre-auction exhibition staffing, and speaking to the clients about property
• Working with other internal teams, including research, cataloguing, marketing, and retail to produce content, scholarship and expand marketing possibilities 

Experience required:

• 5 years experience in a gallery, auction house or arts-related organization
• A minimum of a BA degree, preferably in Art, Art History or Design
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

The ideal candidate will also possess:

• Prior knowledge or experience in the auction industry

Full-time Social Media Specialist

Rago/Wright is looking for an experienced social media specialist with knowledge of 20th century art, design and jewelry to run our social media accounts. Qualified candidates will be highly versed in creating Instagram and Facebook content and will have a solid grasp of these platforms’ marketing tools. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of brand voice as it applies to both visual and written content, and will be passionate about reaching expanded digital audiences. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Establish and maintain regular posting schedule for all Rago/Wright social media channels: Wright, Rago, LAMA, and Wright Now.
• Write posts and produce content for our various accounts.
• Engage with social media, followers, etc. to further grow and understand our audience.
• Analyze post performance metrics and strategize new social media campaigns and initiatives based on this data.
• Work with our director of content, art director and marketing team to ensure we are featuring top lots, special collections, and maintaining our brand.
• Stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies.

Experience required:

• 2 years of experience in social media and/or marketing
• A minimum of a BA degree
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Experience working independently and managing ones time and priorities to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments

The ideal candidate will also possess:

• Prior knowledge or experience in the auction industry
• Familiarity with Photoshop and/or other image editing software
• Familiarity with publishing and web design
