A Life of Discovery

The Evelev Collection

Helen and Leonard Evelev

Helen and Leonard Evelev were passionate world travelers with a discerning eye for the arts. The couple met in New York before settling in Philadelphia, where they remained devoted partners for 73 years. Lifelong admirers of ceramics and fine art, the Evelevs discovered treasures both abroad and in their home cities of Philadelphia and New York. They were longtime members of The Clay Studio in Philadelphia and close friends of noted gallerist and collector Helen Drutt.

Their curiosity extended beyond ceramics—they also collected fabrics, textiles, and unique objects from around the world. Whether browsing galleries or stopping into a bar in Bogotá, Colombia, they followed their instincts, acquiring pieces that spoke to them.

Following their passing, their family hopes the remarkable works they collected will continue to be appreciated and enjoyed for generations to come.
