This double-page world map was first issued in the 1522 Strasbourg edition of Ptolemy's Georgraphia. This is the first map in a Ptolemy to use the name "America" and among the earliest maps to depict discoveries of the "new" and "modern" world. This 1535 edition includes the "Tabu. Totius Orbis" additional title in a banner at the head.
