Born in the Czech Republic, Aleš Vašíček trained at the glass technical school in Železný Brod before studying at the University of Applied Arts in Prague under renowned glass artist Stanislav Libenský. Vašíček developed a minimalist style and employs color, light, and shadow to masterfully explore the “essences” of fire, water, air, and earth. His works define the space around them and seem to defy gravity, pulsating with energy that belies their material composition.
