In 1985, Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat collaborated on a series of works, their joint creative output the subject of an exhibition in New York presented by Tony Shafrazi Gallery and Bruno Bischofberger. This poster advertising the show features the two legendary artists wearing boxing gloves, the portrait taken by Michael Halsband.

This poster was hanging at the Wu-Tang Martial Arts Club at 2nd Avenue and Houston, where the present owner was a member. The owner knew she was friends with Basquiat and shortly after the artist’s death, he gave her the work to keep.
