This work is from the edition of an unknown size produced to accompany the full-size bronze Horse and Rider installed at Texas Tech University's Student Union Gathering Pavilion. It was only available for sale at the Texas Tech Student Union. Sold with original packaging.

The Tom Otterness sculpture Horse and Rider, a full-scale bronze on view at Texas Tech University's Student Union was so popular that small-scale replicas were commissioned as a result of numerous inquires received by the university for affordable versions of the beloved work. Though these small versions were available for purchase to anyone visiting the Student Union, students enrolled in the school could purchase one maquette each at a special discounted price, as requested by the artist.
