Harvey Sadow’s ceramics have been exhibited worldwide and are included in the permanent collections of dozens of public and corporate institutions, including Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and the White House Collection of American Crafts. A perfectionist who developed new techniques in dry surface coloration for raku-fired ceramics, he destroys any piece he deems less than perfect and maintains a small output of only a couple dozen pieces per year. Sadow sandblasts, fires (up to eight times), chisels, and stains his pots to achieve unique effects and considers his pieces to be round paintings that are meant to be turned to be fully appreciated.
My work embraces a global metaphor that weaves a story about man, earth, and the whole universe, real and imagined.
