The American Association of Museums bestowed glowing praise upon Emile Decoeur's work shown in the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, Paris, writing in their selection of objects from the show:
"Emile Decoeur stands at the head of French ceramists of today. He is still a young man but his untiring experiments, guided by superior intelligence and high artistic taste, have brought to the art of grand feu stoneware and porcelain a richness and refinement unattained before in modern times. The beauty of his subtle, unctuous glaze effects have revealed possibilities in the art of the ceramist that have never been rivalled, it is safe to say, since the high period of the old Chinese potters."
Such recognition was especially fitting for Decoeur, as he believed the ancient Chinese to be the undisputed masters of the art of ceramics.
