Cara Croninger was a famed jewelry designer whose sculptural and colorful creations appeared in Vogue for more than 30 years. A pioneer in the use of polyester resin and acrylics in High Fashion jewelry, she mastered the technique of pouring and carving resin to create earrings, bracelets, and what would become her signature pieces, heart-shaped pendants. Her jewels incapsulate ancient and futuristic looks and are influenced by African, Indian, and Asian design. In the late 1970s, Croninger joined Robert Lee Morris’s Artwear gallery in New York City, attracting the attention of affluent collectors and fashion designers. Her work was collected by Zahah Hadid and can be found in permanent collections of museums including the Museum of Art and Design in NYC.
