According to the Connor Brothers, "the Connor Brothers are fictional characters invented by the Connor brothers." In their inventive origin story, the pair cast themselves as children raised within the extreme Christian cult known as "The Family," who defected as teenagers in favor of riding the rails. Eventually settling in Brooklyn, the brothers began to collaborate on artwork as a means of processing the hyper-stimulating modern world. 

For those who can't or don't want to take a joke, the Connor Brothers is the pseudonym for British artists James Golding and Mike Snelle. Working together, they first achieved recognition in 2012 and maintained anonymity until October 2014, when The Telegraph published their "tell-all" interview with Mick Brown. In 2015, the Connor Brothers produced a performance commenting on the refugee crisis at Banksy's Dismaland and have worked on numerous other projects at the intersections of art and activism. Their work is included in major collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum and Penguin Books.
