The luxury brand S. T. Dupont planted its roots in Paris when Simon Tissot Dupont, photographer to Napolean III, decided to create fancy travel trunks for the wealthy. The company was met with success as royalty, leading screen and stage actors, and wealthy patrons purchased Dupont luggage. In 1941, a Maharaja purchased 100 lighters to distribute as gifts. Then, in the 1970s, Jackie Kennedy requested a pen to accompany her lighter. The name Dupont is not as familiar in the watch category, but this bold, limited edition RAID watch helped to change that. RAID is the special forces in France established in 1985 with the motto "Servir Sans Faillir". This watch marked their 25th anniversary.
