Arnold Ostertag founded his jewelry maison in 1922 in Paris at 16 Place Vendôme. Drawing from the periods artistic design influences, Ostertag became acclaimed not only for his jewelry but also objets d’art. Ostertag's creations were inspired by his travels throughout the United States, Europe and India. He also fashioned jewels in the Tutti Frutti style, using carved emeralds, rubies, and sapphires with diamonds. Unfortunately, the firm was short lived, as a result of the outbreak of WWII.
