ALBERT PALEY (b. 1944) Three-and-a-half foot push plate for Clyde's Restaurant (Tyson's Corner, VA), series of 10, Rochester, NY, 1980; Cast bronze, mounted on painted wood; No visible markings; Plate only: 43" x 36" x 1"; This push plate was part of a large commission that, in addition to architectural columns and railings, also included fireplace andirons and a fountain for the interior of this restaurant outside Washington, D.C. This was the artist's first architectural bronze edition. Cast from a forged and fabricated steel original, these push plates were made for the restaurant's revolving doors.
