This service is one of the rare surviving works from the 1853 New York Crystal Palace exhibition. Formally known as the Exhibition of the Industry of All Nations, the fair was America's first large-scale international exhibition. Jones, Ball & Co. were exhibitors at the fair, whose wares included silver tea sets, pitchers, waiters, and vases.
