The Osaka series consists of simple forms that maestro Tagliapietra used to explore pattern and texture with murrine. As the name suggests, the series is inspired by Japan; the banded designs call to mind traditional Japanese kimono and the obi that wrap and secure them in place. The resulting works display a nuanced painterly quality with rich colors and complex patterns.
