Alessio Boschi

Amazing and Amusing Jewels

Alessio Boschi, born in Rome, has been creating unique and fanciful designs for over 20 years. Presently, he works in both his hometown of Bagnoregio, Italy and Bangkok, Thailand.

Boschi started his career by taking freelance projects after his graduation from the Academy of Costume and Fashion of Rome in 1996. In 1999, Boschi took part in a collaborative project to create the design for the Millennium Sapphire. Carved to honor the “creative genius of humanity”, his involvement earned him a spot in the 2003 Guinness book of World Records, as this was the largest, gem-quality, carved sapphire in the world, weighing 61500 cts. He held several prestigious jobs, including Design Director at a pearl company in Australia, before founding the Alessio Boschi brand in 2010.

His pieces, often whimsical, take inspiration from the natural world and the architecture of ancient civilizations. Collections currently include Crown & Byzantine, Naturalia, and Historica. Many pieces have intriguing dual functions, a long necklace may be detachable to become multiple bracelets, or a brooch turns into a pendant necklace, as one can see in “The Mussel” opal and gem-set necklace brooch. Boschi has been the recipient of many awards including the UK Jewellery Design’s Italian Designer of the Year in 2009 and the International Jewelry Design Excellence Award Hong Kong in 2015, 2017, and 2019. His signature opulence and flare for the dramatic can be seen throughout all his skillfully crafted jewels.
