Autobiography of a Hoarder: The Collection of Martin Cohen, Part 1
Catalog online October 1, 2018
Exhibition begins October 13, 2018
The Collection of Martin Cohen, encompassing some 200 lots, is a rich olio of American and European decorative arts, sculpture and lighting, antiquities, and other artistry that has inspired Cohen, such as the work of the renowned outsider sculptor William Edmondson, the first African American artist to be given a one person show at the Museum of Modern Art. The collection on sale bespeaks Cohen’s particular focus on the Aesthetic Movement and his passion for the work of Lockwood de Forest, Herter Brothers and Louis Comfort Tiffany.
