Katherine Van Dell Director, Jewelry
Katherine joined Rago in 2013, having begun her career at Freeman’s Auctions in Philadelphia, where she managed the Main Line office and worked closely with the jewelry department. She is a member of the American Society of Jewelry Historians and a candidate for the Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America. She appears as an expert appraiser for the PBS series, Antiques Roadshow, where she specializes in jewelry. Katherine is a graduate of The Tyler School of Art.
Christopher Wise Specialist, Silver
Christopher Wise directs the Coins and Currency department and oversees sales of silver, Militaria and ephemera. Chris, who joined Rago in 2006 as a Junior Specialist in the silver department, began buying and selling antique tools, coins, currency, firearms, ephemera and silver while in his early twenties. He is a member of the American Numismatic Association, the Silver Society and the American Numismatics Society. He is also an auctioneer for Rago.
Sarah Churgin Principal Consultant, Jewelry
Sarah Churgin established the Jewelry department at Rago in 2001 and directed the growth of its auctions through 2016, achieving multiple record prices for consignors over the fifteen years of her tenure. She is an expert in fine and antique jewelry, silver and vertu (as well as a knowledgeable generalist) and a member of the board of the American Society of Jewelry Historians. Sarah appears as an expert appraiser for the PBS series, Antiques Roadshow, where she specializes in jewelry and lectures widely.
