Meredith Hilferty Director
Meredith Hilferty heads the Fine Art department. A former Assistant Director with Jeffrey Fuller Fine Art, Ltd. in Philadelphia, she came to Rago in 2006 with a decade of experience in the evaluation of American and European art from the 18th-20th C. as well as appraisals and exhibition management. Since that time, she has developed a department that sets auction records for diverse and significant art at many price points. She appears as an expert appraiser for the PBS series, Antiques Roadshow, where she specializes in paintings and prints.
Mick Byers Specialist
Mick Byers, who began with Rago in 2006, works with the Fine Art department and, more broadly, in outreach. He is a specialist in the work of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Impressionists and Modernists and a longstanding member of the arts community, with ties to private collectors and dealers throughout the region. Mr. Byers can evaluate and inform clients about many types of art, as well as European and American antiques and the works of the Pennsylvania studio craftsmen, which makes him invaluable at Rago Free Walk-in Appraisal Days, on client calls, and at previews.
Lauren Bradley Specialist
Lauren joined Rago in 2015 with over a decade of experience working with galleries, auction houses, private art dealers, and appraisers. After receiving a degree in Art History from American University in Washington, DC, she attended New York University, where she continued her education in art history and studied appraisal. She is a former Associate Specialist in the Fine Art Department at Freeman’s Auctions in Philadelphia, where she worked predominately with fine prints. Prior to joining Rago, Lauren, a member of the International Society of Appraisers, worked as an independent appraiser with a specialty in fine art. As a USPAP compliant appraiser, she has continued to assist Rago in this capacity while working as a specialist in fine art. Lauren is a member of Society of the Arts.
