1 GEORGE NAKASHIMA Eight-drawer walnut wall-hanging cabinet with burlwood pulls. (An exceptional and unusual early Nakashima cabinet, the piece was originally designed as part of the interior of a residence on King's Point, Long Island, for his early patrons, the Hammer family. Nakashima served as both the architect and interior designer, and the home was heralded as a new style of modern design influenced by handmade materials.
