18 GEORGE NAKASHIMA Extremely rare Milkhouse table with single large butterfly key to tray-style top, on plank-leg base with keyed through-tenon stretcher. (George Nakashima designed the Milkhouse table in 1944 while working as a hired hand on Antonin Raymond's Bucks County farm. One of Nakashima's earliest and most important designs, the Milkhouse table was produced in very limited numbers and rarely comes to market. This piece is from the original owner.
