Real Men Have Real Style
Sarah Churgin’s Seven Accessories That Make the Man
28 November 2016
by Sarah Churgin, Director of Rago’s Jewelry Department
Despite the fact that the male gender represents nearly half of the world population, most jewelry purchased and produced over the last 100+ years has been for women. This has not always been the case. Historically, jewelry has been employed by men to expresses power and taste and to identify the wearer as a connoisseur or intellectual. It’s no surprise that one of the happy benefits of gender equality is a growing acceptance of male expression through ornament and adornment.
Studded throughout our Fine Jewelry Auction on December 4 are exemplary pieces for the man in search of timepieces, jewelry or vertu that express his personal style in ways both subtle and bold.
