MAURICE PICAUD (PICO) (1900 - 1977)

Art Deco panel of a dancing woman (framed), France, 1930s; Painted plaster; Metal label to frame; Panel only: 19 1/2" x 19"; A reduced replica of the iconic facade bas-relief of the Folies Bergère cabaret hall in Paris. He designed the figure after famed Russian dancer Lila Nicolska.

Condition Report

Panel is laid down to board. Several minor chips visible around the edges. Remnants of gilding visible throughout (mostly around edges and in tight crevices in decoration), though there is extensive overpainting. Tight hairlines to lower right corner (stable, as the panel is laid down to board).
