Rare illuminated guest book for Arthur Jerome Eddy's Pasadena bungalow, Santa Barbara, CA, 1906; Suede, hammered copper, abalone, vellum, ink, paint; Last page signed and dedicated: "to Arthur Jerome Eddy from his Wife Lucy Orrell Eddy on Christmas Day 1906 The Bungalow / The Work of Robert Wilson Hyde Santa Barbara California"; 15" x 9 1/2" x 1 1/2"; “The Bungalow” refers to Eddy's Pasadena home designed by Frederick Roehrig in 1905 in the Arts & Crafts style. Considered one of the most important bungalow designs of the period, it was demolished in the 1970s. Among the 108 guest signatures are Alexander Stirling and Nanette Calder, painter Walter Howlison Pritchard, and naturalist John Burroughs.; For more on Eddy:

Double-hinged cover, overall good vintage condition. Minor looseness to a few abalone mounts, several missing rivet heads to front and back of exterior. Minor yellowing/foxing to all pages. Some minor mold spots to interior suede pages at front and back of vellum pages. Some water spots/stains to suede on front cover.
