Untitled Artist's Sample (Memorial Portrait of Staffordshire Terrier), 2011, pigment and charcoal mixed with ash, signed and dated on verso, 31 1/2" x 51" (stretched/unframed); Garland paints memorial portraits of beloved pets from photographs, incorporating ashes from cremated remains. The draftsman and painter attended the Charles Cecil drawing academy in Florence, worked as a private drawing and art tutor, and has shown at the Outsider Art Fair in Chicago, New York and The Crypt Gallery in London. He has dealt in the antiques trade since 2008.
