ISAAC BROOME (1836 - 1922); LENOX

Important parian bust of Cleopatra, Trenton, NJ, 1914; Stamped LENOX, incised "BROOME. Sculptor/1876-1914/OTT & BREWER/Manufacturers/TRENTON N.J./Medals/Centennial 1870/Paris 1878/To William S. Hancock/By Charles Howell Cook/Walter Scott Lenox/1914; 25" x 17" x 12"; Originally designed by Broome for the 1876 Centennial, this mold was one of several that Cook kept when he bought Ott & Brewer pottery. Lot 350 is one of three copies that Cook had cast in 1914. This one was presented to Hancock, who was in charge of Lenox's retail sales.
