Condition Report

This work, an oil on canvas, is in fine original condition, signed lower left recto. On the left side of the painting, under the frame, is a small fleck of missing color. With evident age, this may have occurred when the work was still wet. To the left of center, in the Delaware River area, there are two small scuffs which join at the top. A gift from the artist to the grandparents of the current owner in thanks for letting the artist stay in a room on their property. Written (on verso) on the stretcher appears, “To my good and true friends, Pauline and Leroy Young 1932” signed again by the artist, in the spirit of the gift. This painting is housed in an unsigned Badura frame, likely original to the work. There are “age cracks” on the upper left and lower right mitered corners, these the result of shrinkage. Please be advised that condition reports are often updated during preview. Please be sure to check for updated condition reports the day of the sale, as there may have been a change or addition.
